The board values public input.  The responsibility of the board is to actively listen and reflect on the public comments. The board may only discuss and act upon items included on the written agenda.  For that reason, board members cannot respond to any comments or questions during public comment but can ask the Superintendent to follow up on issues raised during public testimony.

Guidelines for public input emphasize the respect and consideration of others.  Boisterous conduct will not be permitted at any meeting of the Board of Directors, nor will any harassing or threatening remarks be tolerated.  Complaints about individual employees should be directed to the Superintendent’s office as a personnel matter.

Each person providing public comment will have a total of 3 minutes.  Once called upon please step up to the podium, face the board, state your name for the record. The bell will ring at 3 minutes to remind you that your time is up.

Approval to purchase a CTE Mac Lab for a total of $80,000. Funds for this purchase will come from Carl Perkins grant dollars, CTE state appointment and carryover funds from 20/21.

Our goal is to keep CTE labs updated on a 4-5 year cycle to ensure that students have access to industry-standard equipment.  While we last updated our CHS Mac Lab in 2018, we purchased used iMac devices built in 2015 to save money, while giving students access to a Mac-based lab for Graphic Design and Digital Design Courses. Our desire is to update this lab with m1-based Mac Studio devices that we are planning to last a minimum of five years.

We are requesting approval to purchase a CTE Mac Lab for a total of $80,000. This includes quotes from Apple Store for Education Institution, Monoprice for the monitor and Mac Studio Pros, and additional funds for keyboards and mouses. Funds for this purchase will come from Carl Perkins grant dollars, CTE state apportionment, and carryover funds from the 20/21 CTE budget.
