ONE OF THE THINGS I WANTED TO HIGHLIGHT ABOUT BOTH GARY AND JP WHO ARE BEING RECOGNIZED TONIGHT, IS THEY ARE ON CALL ALL THE TIME. AND WE FOUND OUT WE HAD A SQUIRREL CHEW THROUGH A FIBER OPTIC CABLE, NOT EVEN ON OUR PROPERTY. THAT IMPACTED THE INTERNET AT OUR PBL CAMPUS AND COULD HAVE IMPACTED EVEN MORE LIKE LIBERTY AND THE REST OF OUR DOWNTOWN CAMPUS. AND BOTH GARY AND JP WORKED THROUGHOUT THE NIGHT. I MEAN, THEY WERE IN LIKE 2, 3 IN THE MORNING TO MAKE SURE THAT THE INTERNET WAS UP. AND THIS IS. AND THIS IS A SPECIFIC EVENT, BUT THIS IS ALSO LIKE A CAREER OF DOING THIS FOR BOTH OF THEM. JESSICA RAMIREZ, OUR ASSISTANT ATHLETIC TRAINER, WAS COVERING THE EVENT AS SHE HAS WITH ALL OF THE SKY RIDGE HOME GAMES THIS YEAR. FOR THE FIRST TIME THAT WE'VE BEEN ABLE TO PROVIDE ATHLETIC TRAINING SERVICES AT THE. THE MIDDLE SCHOOL LEVEL. LIAM MCCULLOUGH, ONE OF OUR SPORTS MEDICINE INTERNS, WAS ALONGSIDE HER, AS HE IS FOR MOST EVENTS THAT WE HAVE. I THINK HE'S COVERED MORE THAN 400 HOURS THIS YEAR SO FAR. HE'S BEEN A ROCK STAR IN THE TRAINING ROOM. BUT THERE WAS AN INCIDENT ON FIELD AT THE BEGINNING OF THE SECOND HALF, RIGHT. WITH A Y EAST ATHLETE WHO WENT DOWN, JUST WENT OUT TO EVALUATE, AS IS PRETTY STANDARD WHEN WE'RE COVERING A TEAM THAT DOESN'T HAVE AN ATHLETIC TRAINER HERE. QUICK LINE OF QUESTIONING THAT SHE WAS DOING AND KIND OF HAD HER COACH KIND OF CAME OUT AND WAS LIKE, HEY, HE'S FINE. LET'S GET HIM UP. JESS KIND OF CALMLY PUSHED BACK AND SAID, NO, WAIT, PLEASE LET ME FINISH MY EVALUATION. AND THE LINE OF QUESTIONING THAT SHE HAD KIND OF POINTED TOWARDS THE POSSIBILITY OF CERVICAL SPINE INSTABILITY. SHE INITIATED CERVICAL SPINE STABILITY PROTOCOLS, KIND OF STABILIZED THE ATHLETE'S HEAD AND NECK WITH HER HANDS, AND KIND OF CALMLY GUIDED LIAM THROUGH SOME ADDITIONAL TESTING FOR SENSATION AND MOTOR FUNCTION. IT WAS DETERMINED AFTER THOSE TESTS THAT EMS SHOULD BE ACTIVATED. SO JESS INITIATED THE ACTIVATION OF OUR EMERGENCY ACTION PLANS. WE GOT EMS ON SITE. LIAM KIND OF INSTINCTIVELY WENT OVER TO EMS TO KIND OF GREET THEM, GIVE THEM DETAILS ABOUT THE ATHLETE. AS WE'VE GONE OVER MANY TIMES IN THE ATHLETIC TRAINING ROOM, KIND OF THE STORY ROLE IN THAT SITUATION. SO I THINK THE BEST POSSIBLE PATIENT CARE WAS PROVIDED IN THAT INCIDENT OR INCIDENTS. AND, YEAH, NOT SOMETHING WE'VE HAD BEFORE. SO I WANT TO RECOGNIZE THEM. I'LL JUST ADD A COUPLE THINGS. TWO AMAZING PEOPLE HERE. HONESTLY. LIAM HAS GIVEN. WE NEVER COULD HAVE PULLED OFF THIS PROJECT WITHOUT A HOST OF HELP FROM OUTSIDE AND LOTS OF PEOPLE TO HELP, AT LEAST JUST SUPPORT AS WE WENT THROUGH IT. SO I'M PERSONALLY GLAD MR. MOORE DIDN'T HAVE TO GIVE FEEDBACK FIVE TIMES TO EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THESE ESSAYS BECAUSE I THINK HE WOULD HAVE GONE CRAZY. SO SHOUT OUT TO A GROUP OF FIVE STUDENTS FROM. FROM OUR SCHOOL WHO CAME TOGETHER AND HELPED MR. MOORE COMPILE SKIN POEMS AND WORK THROUGH. ONE THING THAT WE DID WAS THIS SKIN POEM WHERE EACH PERSON WROTE OUT THEIR SKIN TONE IN A DESCRIPTIVE WAY AND WE COMPILED THEM INTO A BEAUTIFUL POEM THAT WE HAVE AT THE FRONT OF YOUR BOOK. ANOTHER WAS OUR WHO WE ARE PAGE, WHICH IS AT THE BACK, WHICH WAS COMPLETELY STUDENT WRITTEN AND DESIGNED JUST TO REALLY SHOWCASE WHAT WE ARE ABOUT AT ODYSSEY. AND THEN JUST HOURS AND HOURS OF FEEDBACK FROM MR. MOORE AND FROM OTHER STUDENTS. I SHOUT OUT TO ALL OF THE HARD WORK THAT WENT INTO THIS PROJECT AND MAKING IT AS BEAUTIFUL AND AMAZING AS IT COULD POSSIBLY BE. WE'VE SHOWED AND DEMONSTRATED ODYSSEY WELL. AND WITHIN THE BOOK, THERE'S ABOUT A COLLECTION OF 70 OR SO STORIES. ALSO COMMUNITY ED RATES, BOTH COMMUNITY ED FACILITY RATES AND PRESCHOOL ALL WERE INCREASED FOR NEXT YEAR. AND THEN WE DID OPTIMIZE OUR CAPITAL PROJECTS FUND TECH AND SAFETY LEVY AND JUST MOVED OUR SRO CONTRACT AND ONE TECH LEVY STAFF MEMBER OVER THERE SO THAT IT'S BEING COVERED BY THAT FUND VERSUS THE GENERAL FUND. BUSINESS SERVICES, WE HAD A COUPLE OF SOFTWARE AND THEN OUR MERCHANT SERVICES THAT WE CHANGED AND REDUCED THAT SOFTWARE TO HAVE SOME SAVINGS THERE. SOME STAFFING THAT IS GOING TO BE IMPACTED IS TRANSPORTATION THROUGH OUR NEW SOFTWARE THAT WE BOUGHT, BUT IT WILL NOT AFFECT STAFF. WE HAVE FIVE OR SIX STAFF THAT ARE RETIRING. AND SO THAT'S THE ONLY AREA WHERE THERE'S SOME REDUCTION BUT WOULDN'T IMPACT ANYONE CURRENTLY WHO'S BEING EMPLOYED HERE. SO THAT'S ALWAYS A POSITIVE.
